ReadAnything ("we," "us," or "our") operates the ReadAnything mobile application. We are a Privacy-First application designed to provide high-quality text-to-speech services while ensuring your data remains under your control.

1. Data Collection and Usage

ReadAnything is designed to minimize data collection. Our core philosophy is Local Processing.

• Personal Content: All text, documents (PDFs), and images processed for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) synthesis are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your personal reading content to our servers.
• Identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers. We use anonymous, device-specific identifiers solely for the purpose of managing "Pro" features and subscriptions.
• Usage Analytics: We may collect anonymized, aggregated diagnostic and usage data (e.g., app crash reports or feature usage frequency) to improve the stability and performance of the App. This data is not linked to your identity or your processed content.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide essential functionality, we integrate with a limited number of trusted service providers who adhere to strict privacy standards:

• Google Play Services: Used for core Android functionality and security.
• Google ML Kit: Used for on-device OCR. Data processed by ML Kit for OCR is handled locally on your device.
• RevenueCat: Used to manage and verify your in-app subscriptions and "Pro" features.
• Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: We use these services to understand how the App is used and to identify and fix technical issues. These services collect anonymized data such as device models, OS versions, and crash logs to improve app stability and performance.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Since your reading content is stored locally on your device (within the App's private storage), you have full control over it. You can delete individual jobs or folders within the App at any time. Deleting the App will remove all locally stored data. We do not maintain backups of your personal content.

4. Permissions

The App requests only necessary permissions:

• Internet: To fetch content from links you share and to communicate with the Play Store/RevenueCat for billing.
• Foreground Service: To allow audio playback and synthesis to continue while the screen is off or the App is in the background.
• Notifications: To provide controls for active audio playback and synthesis status.

5. Security

The security of your data is important to us. By utilizing on-device processing, we significantly reduce the risk of data exposure. For any data in transit (e.g., link fetching), we use secure, encrypted (HTTPS) protocols.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
